Add Lumia to MetaMask

Who this is for: developers adding a Lumia network to MetaMask for the first time.

Prerequisites: MetaMask installed. Read Accounts & Wallets on Lumia first if you haven't used an EVM wallet before.

Time: under 2 minutes.

1

Open Reference in another tab

Open /reference/networks. You'll copy values from it in step 4. Decide first whether you want mainnet or Beam testnet; most development work uses Beam.

2

Open Add network

In MetaMask, click the network selector at the top of the window, then Add network.

3

Choose Add a network manually

4

Fill in the fields

Using the matching row from /reference/networks:

  • Network name: e.g. "Lumia Beam Testnet" or "Lumia Mainnet"

  • New RPC URL: the RPC (HTTPS) value for the network you chose

  • Chain ID: the chain ID value for that network

  • Currency symbol: as listed on that page; do not guess a symbol yourself

  • Block explorer URL: the Explorer value for that network

5

Save and confirm

Click Save, then confirm MetaMask switches you to the network you just added.

If Lumia's own site or app offers a one-click "Add to MetaMask" button (a wallet_addEthereumChain prompt), it fills in the same fields automatically. Compare what it shows you against /reference/networks before approving, the same way you'd check a manual entry.

Verify it worked

MetaMask's network selector shows the network you added, and the chain ID under Settings → Networks for that entry matches /reference/networks exactly.

Troubleshooting

"Could not fetch chain ID" error while saving

The RPC URL was mistyped, or you copied it from an old tutorial rather than /reference/networks. Retype it.

Chain ID mismatch warning

You've likely entered a chain ID that doesn't match the RPC endpoint's actual network. Re-copy both fields from the same row of /reference/networks.

You landed on chain ID 1952959480

That's a retired network, not Beam. See /reference/retired-testnet and re-add using the current Beam values instead.
