# Chain features

**Who this is for:** developers who want to know what Lumia offers beyond base zkEVM execution. **You should already know:** the basics on [Architecture](https://app.gitbook.com/s/chmhPiVNAafGw48c4oU2/ecosystem/lumia/architecture).

"Chain features" is a grouping, not a single mechanism: it covers the parts of Lumia that change how a user or contract interacts with the chain, rather than how the chain reaches finality. Two features live here: [**Account Abstraction & Intents**](https://app.gitbook.com/s/chmhPiVNAafGw48c4oU2/ecosystem/lumia/architecture/account-abstraction-and-intents), which covers how a user can transact without directly managing a raw private key and gas, and [**Interoperability**](https://app.gitbook.com/s/chmhPiVNAafGw48c4oU2/ecosystem/lumia/architecture/interoperability), which covers how Lumia connects to other chains for cross-chain messaging.
