The Lumia chain framework and settlement

Who this is for: developers and issuers who want to know which parts of Lumia's stack are Lumia-specific and which come from shared infrastructure. You should already know: Architecture.

Lumia runs on proven zkEVM infrastructure rather than a bespoke, one-off implementation. Its sequencer, prover, and bridge software come from the Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK), a framework for assembling a zkEVM chain out of standard, interoperable components (see What Lumia's chain is built with). Building on the CDK is also what lets Lumia settle through AggLayer, the shared settlement and bridging hub on Ethereum L1 (see How Lumia settles and bridges to Ethereum).

It should not be confused with the separate Lumia Passport product, which lives under Use Lumia and is unrelated.
