# Tokenize

**Who this is for:** asset issuers and institutions evaluating Lumia to bring a real-world asset (RWA), such as private credit, real estate, commodities, or funds, on-chain. This section is conceptual: it explains the lifecycle and the decisions an issuer has to make. It does not claim a self-serve issuance path exists today. See [What is RWA tokenization on Lumia?](https://app.gitbook.com/s/chmhPiVNAafGw48c4oU2/tokenize/what-is-rwa-tokenization-on-lumia) for what is and isn't confirmed.

### Start here

If you are evaluating Lumia for a specific asset, read [What is RWA tokenization on Lumia?](https://app.gitbook.com/s/chmhPiVNAafGw48c4oU2/tokenize/what-is-rwa-tokenization-on-lumia) first, then [The asset lifecycle](https://app.gitbook.com/s/chmhPiVNAafGw48c4oU2/tokenize/the-asset-lifecycle). If you are working through legal groundwork, start at [Compliance overview for issuers](https://app.gitbook.com/s/chmhPiVNAafGw48c4oU2/tokenize/legal/compliance-overview-for-issuers).

### Talk to us

Every page in this section is explicit about what Lumia has and hasn't confirmed. If you're evaluating a specific asset or need something these pages don't answer, [talk to us](https://app.gitbook.com/s/chmhPiVNAafGw48c4oU2/institutions/talk-to-us) directly rather than guessing from the documentation.
