Bridging assets user guide
Who this is for: anyone who wants to move assets between Ethereum (or another chain) and Lumia, without the developer-level detail. For the technical version, with contract-level detail, addresses, and the exact bridge interface, see Bridge assets to/from Lumia L2.
Bridging moves value between two separate chains. Assets on one chain are locked or burned, and a matching representation is released or minted on the other. You need a wallet set up for both the source chain and Lumia before you start. See Getting a wallet if you do not have one yet.
Before you bridge anything
This guide does not name a specific bridge URL, contract address, or fee, because none is confirmed, and a user following an invented link or address here could lose funds.
Before you bridge:
Get the bridge you use from an official Lumia channel: the site, the official docs, or a confirmed support reply. Never from a link in a message, a comment, or an unsolicited DM.
Confirm the network at both ends. Check the chain ID against Networks & endpoints before you approve any transaction. Do not rely on a network name alone, because names can be spoofed or mistyped.
Start with a small amount the first time you bridge a given asset, so a mistake costs you little rather than everything.
The general shape of a bridge transaction
What follows is the general pattern for bridging a token between two EVM chains. Read it as an outline of what to expect, not as steps to follow against any particular bridge.
The diagram below shows that general pattern. It does not show which bridge Lumia users should use, how long any step takes, or what a bridge charges: none of that is confirmed.
Connect your wallet
Connect your wallet to the bridge interface.
Select chains and asset
Select the source chain, the destination chain, and the asset.
Approve the bridge contract
Approve the bridge contract to move the asset. For ERC-20 tokens this is a separate transaction from the transfer itself.
Confirm and wait on the source chain
Confirm the bridge transaction and wait for it to be picked up on the source chain.
Wait for the destination chain
Wait for the asset to appear on the destination chain. Some bridges deliver it automatically. Others require a second, separate claim transaction on the destination side.
If something goes wrong
Do not guess at a fix. Do not send a second transaction to try again before you understand why the first one is stuck. Contact support with your transaction hash and both wallet addresses:
